The Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation Specialization is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the world through innovation and entrepreneurial thinking. In Dr. Sebold's words, "We want you to understand the innovation process, become adept at evidence-based entrepreneurship, and assess the value of intrapreneurship. It's about making a sustainable and scalable difference in the world."

The specialization guides learners through an applied learning project while covering the concepts and innovative practices entrepreneurs need for success:

  • Understand the innovation process and will learn applied methods for effectively practicing Technology Entrepreneurship.
  • Apply the tenants of evidence-based entrepreneurship, identify and work on problems, and assess the value of intrapreneurship.
  • Learn to conduct marketplace conversations and learn the value of customer archetypes and personas to enhance ideas.
  • Articulate their idea using design thinking and craft an Evidence-Based Pitch Deck.

The ASU Engineering on-demand specialization is available on Coursera and learners can expect to complete four courses, including “What is Technology Innovation,” “Care: The First Step in Tech Innovation for Entrepreneurs,” “Curiosity: A necessary Ingredient for Successful Innovation,” and “Putting it All Together: Problem-Solve LIke an Entrepreneur” in approximately two months with 10-hours per week of learning. The asynchronous nature of the course provides learners with access to course content materials on their own time and allows individuals to engage in discussions at their own convenience. This flexibility ensures that professionals and students from various backgrounds across the globe can pursue the program without major disruptions to their daily routines.

For those who want to change the world through innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset, this specialization is an opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful and lasting impact. ASU invites all those interested to explore the possibilities and enroll in this exciting program, which is set to inspire the next generation of technology innovators and entrepreneurs.
