The Fulton Schools of Engineering has created a series of professional certification programs to develop a highly technical workforce in today’s most in-demand areas of computing. In partnership with Coursera, we are offering these professional certifications as MasterTrack™ Certificates to address the global demand for professionals in these areas:
Students in this program benefit from a deeply engaging learning experience with real-world projects and live, expert instruction. You can pursue this professional certification as a stand-alone credential or you can continue toward a graduate degree.
The Master in Computer Science program allows MasterTrack™ Certificate coursework to count towards your chosen degree requirements (provided the courses grades are "B" or higher and are within the last 3 years at the time of admission). All coursework taken before the start of a degree program is subject to approval by the Program Chair and the Graduate College. An application is required for admission consideration for a master's program.
Why pursue a professional certification program
Each professional certification program or MasterTrack™ Certificate requires three graduate-level courses in a specific technical domain. You have the option to choose the three required courses from a list of applicable course options. You are able to complete the program in 4-6 months, the schedule adapts to your needs. If you get a B or better on your first attempt in every course in this MasterTrack™ Certificate, you will earn a university-issued certification.
In addition to the university-issued certification, by earning the MasterTrack™ Certificate you satisfy the GPA requirement for the ASU Master of Computer Science degree program. Apply these credits to begin the Master of Computer Science program with 9 of your 30 required credits completed. Students must still meet all other admission criteria in order to be eligible for the graduate degree program.
