Why this matters

Semiconductors power the technologies shaping our future

Semiconductors are foundational to technologies ranging from artificial intelligence and advanced computing to communications, transportation, health care and energy. Behind these technologies is a complex global ecosystem spanning research, materials, chip design, advanced manufacturing, equipment, software and more. 

The Netherlands-U.S. Semiconductor Talent Programme gives ASU master’s students an opportunity to explore this ecosystem firsthand and discover how their own academic backgrounds and skills may translate into careers within the semiconductor industry.

Go beyond the classroom

Throughout the program, participants will engage directly with academic and industry experts and experience different parts of the semiconductor ecosystem. 

The program includes dedicated industry experiences with ASML and ASM, giving students the opportunity to learn directly from professionals and see semiconductor technologies, processes and career pathways in action.

The program

Four days. Three locations. One interdisciplinary semiconductor challenge.

The Team Challenge 

Put your ideas into action

Learning won’t stop when the lectures end.

At the beginning of the program, participants will be placed into interdisciplinary teams and introduced to a semiconductor-related challenge. Teams will build on what they learn across the four days, bringing together different academic backgrounds, skills and perspectives to develop a solution.

The program culminates at ASU with a final team pitch and presentation, where students will share their ideas with academic and industry representatives.

No specialized semiconductor experience is required. The challenge is designed to encourage collaboration, creative problem-solving and learning across disciplines.

You don’t need to be a semiconductor expert

We are looking for curious, motivated ASU master’s degree students who want to learn more about the semiconductor industry and explore how their knowledge and skills could contribute to the field.

Students from a range of academic and technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including:

Prior semiconductor experience is not required.

We are particularly interested in students who are curious about the industry, open to exploring semiconductor-related careers and excited to work with students from other disciplines.
