Master Black Belts are the cornerstone of an organization’s operational excellence, playing a critical role as change agents, trainers, mentors and project leaders. They develop and implement change initiatives and become a necessary member of an organization’s leadership team and its competitive advantage.
The Arizona State University’s Master Black Belt (MBB) program accredited by Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU is designed to provide experienced, certified Black Belts the necessary technical knowledge and leadership competencies to become champions of Lean and Six Sigma in today’s complex organizations. We believe the key method to developing new leaders is to encourage freethinking and individual discovery. We present technical tools and leadership competencies that enable participants to solve their own unique problems. The emphasis is on power thinking for new solutions and balancing innovation with the hard science of practical deployment, not on memorizing set solutions.
The program was developed and is taught by world-renowned ASU faculty and industry experts, and weaves the development of advanced technical expertise with strategic leadership skills. Participants are equipped to meet the challenges of driving quantifiable improvements and successfully leading change in their organizations. They will draw on the extensive practical experience of the instructors, learning how to implement the tools, how to be creative problem solvers, and how to work with senior leaders as a strategic partner.
